  1. Misty was born on Assateague Island in 1946. She swam in the Annual Pony Swim that year across the Assateague Channel where the wild ponies still swim today. You can view the channel from Chincoteague’s Veteran’s Memorial Park.

  2. Misty lived at Beebe Ranch for many of her adult years at 3062 Ridge Road. Call 757-894-1953 to schedule or join a tour.

  3. Grandma & Grandpa Beebe and Paul are buried in Greenwood Cemetery at the intersection of Bunting and Willow Streets.

  4. Much of the movie "Misty" was filmed at the Carnival Grounds in 1961 on South Main Street.

  5. The movie premiered in Chincoteague and in Hollywood the same night. See Misty's hoofprints in cement in front of Island Theatre, 4074 Main Street.

  6. Bronze statue of Misty on Main Street at the entrance to Robert N. Reed Downtown Waterfront Park.

  7. Marguerite Henry wrote Misty of Chincoteague in 1947 while staying at Miss Molly's Inn, 4141 Main Street (stay in the Marguerite Henry Room).

  8. Visit Misty and her foal, Stormy, as part of the Beebe Ranch exhibit at Museum of Chincoteague Island, 7125 Maddox Boulevard.
